With the massive success of the BBC reboot, a big-screen version of the sci-fi series was going to happen eventually, but the details were always a bit of a mystery. Now though, news comes that Harry Potter director David Yates will be taking on Doctor Who for a big-screen adaptation. What’s more, it will apparently have nothing to do with the tv show and won’t star current doctor, Matt Smith.
Yates says';
‘Russell T. Davies and then Steven Moffat have done their own transformations, which were fantastic, but we have to put that aside and start from scratch. We want a British sensibility [in a screenwriter], but having said that, Steve Kloves wrote the Potter films and captured that British sensibility perfectly, so we are looking at American writers too’
Excited? Or would you rather see the current series leap to the big screen?
