Harington to play Arthur
Director David Dobkin has finally found his leading man, Kit Harington is heir apparent to play King Arthur in the upcoming Warner Brother’s flick Arthur & Lancelot. Dobkin had been searching for young, up and coming actors and Harington fits the bill. The story concentrates on Arthur’s early years. As an illegitimate son raised by a poor but humble knight, his life was never likely to be plain sailing. However in the face of adversity Arthur matures and in time transforms into the inspiration he will become. Lancelot on the other hand is from a noble background with a rebellious nature, to be played by Joel Kinnaman (who stars in the US remake of The Killing) Harington will be no stranger to wielding a sword, his character as Jon Snow in HBO’s Game of Thrones will have done him no harm. It is has also been confirmed that Gary Oldman has been cast as Merlin. With quality names like these in the cast the project is sure to prove interesting and is seen as being an action packed movie with a light hearted feel. The project is due to begin shooting in March next year, Harington meanwhile will be back in the next season of Thrones and will also appear on cinema screens in Silent Hill: Revelation 3D.
