Lily Collins is another star on the rise, fresh from starring as Snow White in Mirror Mirror; she is currently in talks for one of the leads in the reboot of the evil dead franchise. The project is being directed by Fede Alvarez who was behind Panic Attack, Sam Raimi who directed the originals is producing, alongside Bruce Campbell who starred all those years ago when plasticine and tomato sauce were the special effects of the day in the 1981 thriller. Word is that Sony is aiming for a 2013 release, the remake is set to bring the story back to it’s grass roots and be less comical than it’s sequels. The story see a group of twenty something’s sharing a cabin in the woods, (pure horror fodder right there if you ask me)and discover a book of the dead alongside an archaeologist's taped translation of the text and its incantations which sure enough summon all those demons that really should be left alone. Collins is the daughter of British rocker and sometime actor Phil Collins and she made her first film appearance in The Blind Side. She is getting some recognition now particularly after her portrayal in Mirror Mirror opposite Julia Roberts she has also acted alongside Taylor Lautner in Abduction. If she does agree to come on board it could launch her onto greater things if the reboot is a hit after all it didn’t do Jamie Lee Curtis any harm in her early career. we’ll keep an eye on things and let you know…
