Rumours of a sequel to Ridley Scott's quasi-Alien prequel Prometheus were doing the rounds even before the films release, but now this is looking more and more likely (especially when you consider how it ended) with the movie, which has a budget of $130 million, earning a respectable $303 worldwide.
Scott and Fox studios are pushing ahead with the sequel, giving it release date of sometime in 2014 or 2015, with returning stars Micheal Fassbender and Noomi Repace already signed on. It's unknown if writers Damon Lindelof and Jon Spaihts will return. While we can only speculate at the story for now, one of the aforementioned rumours had the sequel exploring the Engineers home planet, going so far as saying the movie would be called Paradise. Personally, the name aside, this seems the most likely, and would be a great way of further developing the world Scott has created.
