Beginning production in July 2012, George Miller's forth installment in his Mad Max franchise, with Tom Hardy in the lead role, has had something of a troubled development, beginning eighteen months late, and even though it wrapped in December, it is currently in the midsts of re-shoots of Namibia, standing in for the movies post-apocalyptic future. The rest of the year is expected to be taken up with CGI work and a 3D conversion, with the movie expected to be released later next year.
With a cast including Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Rosie Huntington-Whitely, and the original Mad Max himself, Mel Gibson, in a cameo role as "The Drifter", nothing much is known of the story, but the first official image of Hardy as Max Rockatansky has debuted, courtesy of Ain't It Cool. Originally finding its way online a year ago as a signed photograph for a crew member, we now have a more official look at the image, showing off Max's new look, as well as his new ride. It's a look different from what we've seen in the previous movies, and I can't wait to see what Hardy does with the character.
