With series creator James DeMonaco once again in the directors chair, The Purge: Election Year ironically enough hits the big screen just as election fever grips America, offering some very striking parallels to real-life events. The latest trailer has come our way, opening the story wide open as a returning Frank Grillo must protect a senator, whose running for president on a platform of ending The Purge for good, who becomes the target of an assassination attempt by the New Founding Fathers to keep this terrifying tradition alive.
From the start, the core concept of The Purge was the series’ main selling point, and Election Year runs with that more than ever, offering plenty to chew on as society erupts in an explosion of violence.
