After doing nothing more in Star Wars: The Force Awakens than serving as canon fodder for CGI beasties, The Raid’s Iko Uwais is back in his home country of Indonesia doing what he does best with action flick Headshot. Best described as Jason Bourne if Gareth Evans got his hands on it, Uwais plays Ishmael, who wakes up in hospital with large chunks of his memory missing. Nursed back to health by the woman he eventually falls for, Ishamael soon discovers he’s a trained killer when his past comes back in the form of a powerful drug dealer and his army of deadly enforcers, who may or may be Ishmael's former colleagues.
The movie, directed by Kimo Stamboel and Timo Tjahjanto, gets it’s premiere at The Toronto Film Festival’s Midnight Madness this week, and now the first trailer has landed in our laps, and fans of The Raid and The Raid 2 will not be disappointed with the level of brawling and hard hitting action on display here.
No release date has been given as of yet.
